InfoEnglishCzech translation of Free CultureLawrence Lessig's Free Culture explains a very actual problem of today's Internet: the intellectual property rights that were designed for different historical context now inhibit the cultural development of society. The status quo is backed by strong commercial incumbents that strive to survive the battle with new technology. This is an important topic to discuss publicly which led us to start the non-commercial open translation project in May 2007. Since then, more than 50 people have participated in the project. Translated chapters are published on Root.cz, a web server focused on open-source software, which also provided this wiki tool for translation. The aim of the project is to bring translated Free Culture to the Czech public in HTML format and as a sharable PDF.
